2010 Legacies Now

2010 Legacies Now is a not-for-profit society committed to building a stronger British Columbia.

The Vision

To create sustainable legacies that will benefit all British Columbians as a result of hosting the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The Mission

To work in partnership with community organizations, non-government organizations, the private sector and all levels of government to develop sustainable legacies in sport and recreation, arts, literacy and volunteerism.

To actively assist communities discover and create unique and inclusive social and economic opportunities leading up to, and beyond the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

2010 Legacies Now is organized into eight program areas to encourage British Columbians to Get Involved, Be Active, Explore Arts, Embrace Learning and, most importantly, Include Everyone!

Arts Now

Arts Now provide arts, culture and heritage organizations and local governments with information and resources to strengthen arts and culture in their communities.

Inclusion & Accessibility

2010 Legacies Now celebrates diversity and works to create inclusive and accessible communities for all British Columbians.

Literacy Now

Literacy Now works with communities to increase local access to literacy learning for people of all ages. By providing communities with leadership, resources and support, we are creating a legacy of learning in all regions of the province.

Physical Activity & Healthy Living

2010 Legacies Now encourages British Columbians to enjoy more active and healthy lifestyles where they live, learn, work and play.

Spirit of BC

The Spirit of BC® program promotes community innovation, pride and excellence to create unique and lasting legacies for British Columbians, leading up to the 2010 Winter Games and beyond.

Sport and Recreation Now

Sport and Recreation Now encourages participation in sport and recreation as part of a healthy lifestyle, and supports BC athletes and coaches in their journey from playground to podium.

Sport Tourism

2010 Legacies Now works with BC communities to attract and host sport events.

Volunteers Now

Volunteers Now is building capacity and increasing participation within BC's volunteer sector by working with community groups and developing tools such as VolWeb.ca".
