Jane Clark, Feature Artist - North Shore Spirit of B.C.
Born in England, and introduced to the greatest thinkers of the time, growing up Jane had a great freedom to learn and experience many different aspects of life. She moved to British Columbia in 1974, falling in love with the land and travelling throughout. Jane is not happy unless she is roaming the undeveloped areas of the Province's back country, where she paints these experiences through her unique way of seeing the world. She is a true British Columbian ambassador wherever she travels, promoting the beauty of the land she loves. Her long list of exhibits include B.C. House and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, as well as many in British Columbia, particularly in her hometown of West Vancouver. This year Jane partnered with North Shore Spirit of B.C. for an extremely successful showing at the Ferry Building Gallery in West Vancouver during Spirit of B.C. week. This included the launch of her book "Drawn Into The Unknown", containing narrative poems on the history of British Columbia from her unique perspective. At 81 years old, Jane is looking forward to continuing to expand her artistic talents in painting, writing and story reading. Jane is truly never without a creative idea for "what to do next". We are privileged to have her as our Feature Artist. Jane Clark is the artist responsible for the stunning new mural at The Spirit Corner on the North Spirit Trail. The Spirit Corner mural is sure to impress those who pass by, not only during the Olympics, for a many years to come. The Spirit Corner is a new and unique feature of the North Shore, and no doubt it will draw tourists and locals alike to enjoy its beauty.
