The Spirit Trail
 The North Shore Spirit Trail will be a waterfront-oriented, multi-use accessible-to-all trail running across the North Shore. This 35-kilometre greenway will connect existing cycle paths and walkways with newly developed trails from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove.
As a legacy project of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, this will become one of the jewels of the North Shore. A greenway stretching near the waterfront for spectacular views and through forests to give a truly unique North Shore experience. You can walk, bike, jog, use your wheelchair, and commute - the Spirit Trail is envisioned as a wonderful way to be active outside and see the North Shore.
The Spirit Trail is a partnership between the Districts of West Vancouver and North Vancouver,
the City of North Vancouver, the Squamish Nation, North Shore Spirit of B.C. Committee and government agencies.
The North Shore Spirit of B.C. Trail Committee is working with all of the partners to assist in the implementation of this great legacy.
First Section of the Spirit Trail Is Now Open!
The first section of the trail, called the Squamish Nation Waterfront Greenway, is now open. The pathway begins at Waterfront Park and travels through the Mosquito Creek Marina. The trail officiallly opened on February 7th, when the City of North Vancouver and the Squamish Nation celebrated with a special ceremony and unveiled the new Spirit Trail logo.

The Spirit Corner mural is sure to impress those who pass by, not only during the Olympics, for a many years to come. The Spirit Corner is a new and unique feature of the North Shore, and no doubt it will draw tourists and locals alike to enjoy its beauty.
West Vancouver Trail - Opening Spring 2010
You may already have had the chance to walk, bike, stroller or wheelchair along the section of Trail that goes along Ambleside behind Park Royal Shopping Centre. This section will be soon be completed and officially open in the spring of 2010. To follow the developments of the West Vancouver's section of The Spirit Trail.
The City of North Vancouver
The City of North Vancouver is working hard on the design and implementation of the Trail. Get more information about the City's Spirit Trail Route Planning and Design Study.
The District of North Vancouver
Design is underway for the western section of the District, along Welch Street, with construction due to begin in the spring.
